Our Mission

For any organization to be successful, each individual member must have a clear understanding of why they are there. That is no different with a football program. Our goal at Reeds Spring is to develop traits within young men that will not only lead to success on the football field, but also traits that will help lay the framework for a successful life after high school. These goals will be achieved by learning, studying, and always abiding by our four core values: integrity, consistency, enthusiasm, and grit.

Integrity

Author C.S. Lewis labels integrity as "doing the right thing, even when no one is watching." To be a successful student, football player, or member of a changing society, one must possess the ability to do what is right at all times. A football team full of players who have made the decision to be men of integrity will be able to count on one another to do what is best for the team no matter what.

Consistency

There is a very clear connection between the importance of consistency as a high school football player and as an adult with a job and a family. You must learn to complete your responsibilities to the best of your ability EVERY SINGLE DAY. This practice as a football player also develops an understanding in young men that worthwhile goals aren't achieved overnight. Success, as a member of a football team or as a member of a family, community, or business will never come quickly or easily. You must set long term goals, and consistently wake up every day asking yourself how you can work toward your goals that day.

Enthusiasm

The road to success has many challenges and many opportunities to become discouraged. Winston Churchill estimated that "success consists of going from failure to failure without the loss of enthusiasm." Every organization, team, community, and society goes through ups and downs. It is of the upmost importance that we keep our Wolf pride no matter what. If we stick together and remain enthusiastic about the opportunities we have to get better, success will come. Plus, it never hurts to have a little fun along the way.

Grit

In the words of author Travis Bradberry, "grit is that 'extra something' that separates successful people from the rest. It's the passion, perseverance, and stamina we must channel in order to stick with our dreams until they become a reality." A football team that shares the quality of grit will play for 48 minutes every Friday night no matter the score. They will always be prepared, and never stop improving.

Why is being part of the Reeds Spring football program important? If you are a part of this team and you buy into the values by which we are founded and put them into practice in your daily life two things are going to happen. First of all you will have laid the framework and put yourself into a position in which you will find any of your dreams attainable. Second, you will have learned through four solid years of working towards a singular goal with a large group of teammates that individual or group success will never come easy. The bigger the dream, the harder you must work to achieve it. Lifetime success and happiness are attainable for everyone in our great country; however, just like with your experience with football, if you want to win in life, you must first put in the work. GO WOLVES!
